After clearing out just a few more trees, we’re now able to see the lake! It’s so very early on in this project but it’s already exciting to see some progress even if it’s hot and sweaty work.
How much lakefront are we going to clear? We’ve chosen a spot on the lake the has a gap of about 60ft between 2 groups of massive pine trees. We don’t want to cut down those lovely trees but we will take out everything in between. Unfortunately, it’s even more dense at the lake as there is a different kind of tree down there. I’m not sure what it is, but it looks very thick and hard to cut.
We haven’t figured out what to do with all the brush yet. Burning it seems like the best plan, but we haven’t really cleared as much of a clearing as I want to start burning safely. For now, we’re just throwing it on the border of our clearing and calling it “the wall.”
